confirmed Chelsea team for the Luton game |
For tonight's game against Luton Town, Mauricio Pochettino has made one adjustment to Chelsea's lineup, giving Moises Caicedo his entire midfield debut.
On Friday night, the Blues will visit newly promoted Luton with the defense remaining the same as it was for last week's trip to West Ham United. Malo Gusto will start in place of the injured captain Reece James along with Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, and Levi Colwill. Between the posts, Robert Sanchez keeps going.
Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez continue to play in the middle, but Moises Caicedo, a recent addition to the team, replaces the injured Carney Chukwuemeka and gets his first start for Chelsea after substituting in the final 30 minutes of the London Stadium game.
Other than Nicolas Jackson and Ben Chilwell on the flanks, the team remains the same attacking in the lead.
Diego Moreira, a second summer acquisition, as a replacement for the first time in a competitive game.
Two changes have been made by our opponents since their opening-day loss at Brighton. Reece Burke replaces Mads Andersen in defense, and ex-Chelsea star Ross Barkley replaces Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu in midfield to make his Luton debut.
Thiago Silva, Colwill, Enzo, Caicedo, Gallagher, Sterling, Jackson, and Chilwell are among the players for Chelsea.
Beach, Bergstrom, Humphreys, Cucurella, Maatsen, Ugochukwu, Madueke, Moreira, and Burstow are the replacements.
Luton Town: Bell, Kabore, Chong, Nakamba, Barkley, Giles, Morris, Adebayo, Kaminski, Burke, Lockyer (captain), and
Krul, Andersen, Doughty, Johnson, Berry, Mpanzu, Ogbene, Brown, and Woodrow are the replacements.
Robert Jones is the referee.
