According to court documents submitted on Monday, Donald Trump's bond has been set at $US200,000 ($311,000) in the Georgia case accusing him of plotting to retake the presidency in the year 2020.

The bond deal, which is detailed in a court document signed by Trump's defense lawyers and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, forbids Trump from harassing other defendants, witnesses, or victims in the case, including through social media.

Additionally, he is not allowed to speak with any co-defendant or witness about the details of the case "in any way, directly or indirectly" unless he does so through his attorneys.

In a desperate attempt to keep the Republican in the White House after he lost to Democrat Joe Biden, Trump and 18 of his associates are accused by the prosecution of conspiring to thwart the will of the people. They were charged last week in the case.

Trump has denied doing anything illegal. He has been decrying the case even before he was charged, and as recently as Monday morning, he specifically mentioned Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican who rejected his efforts to annul the election.

All of the accused have already been given until Friday at noon to present themselves at the Fulton County Jail so they can be booked, according to Willis. She has suggested that the defendants' arraignments take place the week of September 5 and that the matter be tried in March.

This is the fourth criminal prosecution brought against the former president, who is running for president again in 2024.
