The most likely prisons where the serial killer will ultimately serve her term are HMP Bronzefield and HMP Low Newton.


Alongside some of the most notorious serial killers and violent offenders in British history, Lucy Letby will spend the rest of her life in prison.


Considered to be the most likely prisons where Letby will serve her time are HMP Bronzefield and HMP Low Newton.


On Monday, a rare entire life order was granted to the 33-year-old former neonatal nurse who murdered seven children and attempted to kill six more.


One of only two such prisons in the nation, HMP Bronzefield is a high security facility housing 527 Category A female convicts. It was constructed on the site of an orphan residential school in Surrey.


Sharon Carr, commonly known as The Devil's Daughter, who murdered a boy when she was just 12 years old, is one of the inmates housed in the privately run jail.Both 18-year-old Katie Rackliff and Rizlaine Boular, who participated in an Isil-inspired suicide plot to attack the British Museum with a bomb and guns, were picked out at random as they were walking home from a nightclub in Camberley in June 1992 and June 1992, respectively.


Bronzefield HMP

Bronzefield has struggled with a reputation for an allegedly lenient regime, a high worker turnover rate, and unsatisfactory labor relations ever since it opened in June 2004.


When a newborn infant passed away in October 2019 after the unidentified 18-year-old woman gave birth alone in her cell without medical supervision or assistance, there was criticism of the prison's amenities for expectant mothers.


The 12-bed facility is managed by Sodexo Justice Services.In 2012, the mother and baby unit, which may house kids as young as 18 months old, became the first prison in the UK to establish a standalone Women's Institute section.


The branch is for staff personnel and prisoners participating in programs for resettlement prior to release.


The HMP Bronzefield provides full-time education programs in areas like art, information technology, and English as a foreign language. Additionally, workshops in arts and crafts and cleaning science are available.


Letby would be incarcerated at Low Newton in Brasside, County Durham, with Joanna Dennehy, who was also given a life sentence for the murder of three men.


The so-called Monster Mansion of HMP Frankland, where Soham murderer Ian Huntley is being held, is right next to the jail.as well as Levi Bellfield and Wayne Couzens.


Rose West, the third female prisoner now serving a whole life sentence, was transferred from HMP Bronzefield, where Letby was doing her term on remand, to Low Newton after it was discovered that inmates were planning to attack her with pool balls.


West, who was found guilty in 1995 of 10 murders, is currently incarcerated at HM New Hall in Flockton, Yorkshire.


Sharon Carr, the youngest female murderer in British history, as well as Baby P's mother Tracey Connelly have both spent time at the prison since it first opened in 1965.

A 2021 report from the Independent Monitoring Board revealed that lessons and workshops had been discontinued because of roof leaks, and that an entire building was slated for demolition since it had failed health and safety inspections.
