ENGLAND — The Tottenham vs. Manchester United player ratings were a lot of fun to give out because two Premier League heavyweights gave it their best to win, and Spurs' midfield pairing was essential to the triumph.

Spurs won thanks to a goal from Pape Matar Sarr and an own goal after a terrific second-half performance on Ange Postecoglou's home debut as Tottenham manager.

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United had numerous opportunities, but they still need to address a significant imbalance in their team, particularly in the middle.

Below are each player's ratings out of 10 and an analysis.

Tottenham athlete evaluations

Vicario, Guglielmo: 8 - made a strong close-range save to stop Casemiro's powerful header in the second half and an excellent stop to thwart Rashford in the first. Varane's late header—which was quite similar to Casemiro's effort—was denied by yet another outstanding save, and he was unaware that the flag had been raised. Such a fantastic home debut.

Pedro Porro: 7 - Just before halftime, he hit a beautiful shot that smacked the crossbar. offered a lot of potential for attack on the right. Although he still needs to work on his defense, the performance was excellent.

Ronaldo Romero: 7 defensively as strong as ever, but made a mistake that gave Casemiro a free header that Vicario saved. a touch unpredictable when leaping out from behindHis collaboration with Micky van de Ven, however, is still growing.

Micky van de Ven: 7 - Early on, he and Romero were a little shaky with the ball, and Rashford occasionally got in front of them. However, as the game progressed, he became more confident with the ball.

Destiny Udogie: 8 - The left back had excellent energy, moving forward strongly and stepping high in defense. A current favorite of many fans.

Matar Sarr, Pape: 9 Incredible performance. Finished his goal cleanly after a back post run, repeatedly won the ball back, and never stopped running. twenty years old only.

Yves Bissouma: 9 – Alongside Sarr, he consistently won the ball back. He played great defense and also made some forward progress. United was suffocated in midfield by Spurs.

Dejan Kulusevski: 8 – Excellent wing play led to Sarr's goal, and he consistently posed a threat on the break. He's returning to his peak form.

James Maddison: 7.5 - The only reason he didn't receive an 8 is that he occasionally took his time responding to counters rather than being more straightforward. Always wanted it, classy on the ball. a good playmaker.

Heung-min Son: 8 - He never stopped moving and was constantly vying for the ball on the left side. dribbled into the box and came inches away from scoring a stunning goal, but Shaw's block stopped him. shifted to a crucial position in the secondwhen Richarlison was substituted.

Richarlison: 7 - Put in a lot of effort in the lone roll up top and was unlucky to be replaced. Despite having few opportunities, I was always prepared to strike.

ratings for Manchester United players

(6) Andre Onana Excellent dispersion, but didn't really have much of an impact on stopping shots. To deny Udogie, make one nice stop down low.

5 for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Prior to being replaced, he had a tremendously difficult time halting Son's runs and was often caught out of position.

Raphael Varane: 5 - Struggled with Richarlison and failed to act quickly to diffuse the situation. At the back for United, everything was quite frenetic.

Lisandro Martinez: 5 - Made a few tackles that nearly led to penalties, and, like Varane, never appeared at ease as Spurs pressed hard.

Luke Shaw: 6 - Kulusevski simply slipped by him on the opening goal. attempted to get on the ball but was never really able to leave his own half. had little support in front of him.

Bruno Fernandes: 5 - With the score at 0-0 in the first half, just moments after clipping in a spectacular rabona cross, he missed an easy header. for dissent, a booking. Figure who is frustrated throughout. seems lost in a more complex function.

Mason Mount: 4—Had hardly a kick. Playing immediately ahead of Casemiro, he had no effect on the game, as the Spurs trampled him. For it to have an effect, the player must go forward more.

AlejandroGarnacho: 4 – Didn't play very often. Located alone on the left wing and did not support Shaw's defense.

Marcus Rashford: 6 - Missed with a header and denied by Vicario in a one-on-one situation. kept running through the center, but nobody caught him.
